Location

Whitefish Bay is located in Milwaukee County and is just a 15 minute drive to the heart of the Milwaukee metro area. The Village of Whitefish Bay is bordered by the Village of Fox Point to the north, the Village of Shorewood on the south, Lake Michigan on the east, and the city of Glendale on the west.

Whitefish Bay Schools

The Whitefish Bay School District serves the educational needs of students throughout Whitefish Bay and maintains four public schools and one recreational center. Elementary students begin their first years of learning at Richards or Cumberland, and then filter into Whitefish Bay Middle School after they complete the fifth grade. Afterwards, students then complete their studies at Whitefish Bay High School. Three Catholic schools are also located in Whitefish Bay: the K-8 schools of Holy Family Parish School and St. Monica School and Dominican High School.

Nearby Colleges and Universities

High school graduates and adult learners that are ready to make the jump into a collegiate setting have many choices when it comes to higher learning. Several colleges and universities are all within a 20 mile radius from the heart of Whitefish Bay, making the commute easy and stress-free. Cardinal Stritch University is about five miles away in nearby Milwaukee, as are the Milwaukee School of Engineering, Marquette University, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Concordia University-Wisconsin is located in Mequon and Waukesha is home to Carroll College.

Community Parks

Whitefish Bay is home to ten community parks for the benefit of residents. Water Tower Park features baseball diamonds and soccer fields, while Klode Park offers visitors spectacular views and access to Lake Michigan's shoreline and beach. Silver Spring Park also features spectacular views of Lake Michigan. Old School House Park, also known as Fountain Park, includes many plants and a fountain located in the midst of Whitefish Bay. Old School House Park once served as the location of the first schoolhouse that was built for the community in the late 1890s.

Armory Park features a Veterans Memorial, while Buckley Park is another park that is located along the shores of Lake Michigan; only a paved walking path to the beach is available at this park. Cahill Square Park features tennis courts, baseball fields, soccer fields and basketball courts, along with picnic shelters. Lydell Community Park, Big Bay Park, and Estabrook Park are also located in Whitefish Bay.
